Week 16: Planning Future Strategy

This semester has gone by so quickly!  We started by learning to create blogs.  The blogs are like a conversation that we are having with our readers.  They respond to the blog, and we respond back.  It is a way to have a dialog on-line.  After blogs, we learned how to set up a business Facebook page and Twitter account.  We researched the best social media platforms for our businesses.  We also covered newsletters.

For my business (selling used horse equipment on Ebay), I found that FB, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube would be the best platforms.  I enjoy FB and Instagram the most, so those would probably be the most effective for me.  I am not counting out eventually using Youtube.  I know I would enjoy making short videos.  A blog is another tool that would be very effective, and also a way to establish myself as a source for horse equipment and training information.  The blog entries should probably be made weekly.  The FB and Instagram accounts would probably be best if they were used every day, or at least more frequently.  A newsletter would be used (at the most) on a monthly basis.

  1. I think a blog would be great for your business. I noticed you had a picture on FB of dirty riding pants you asked your audience how they successfully clean their breaches. A blog about best cleaning methods would be informative, could start a dialogue and maybe you link your sales site where you also sell used riding attire? I didn't see a link to your IG in the class links nor in FB.

    1. Thanks for letting me know about IG. I just linked IG to my FB page! I also posted a few times on IG just now, and I see where to share on FB. I'm going to see if it works!

  2. I would assume that there is a large market for used horse equipment since the new equipment can be very costly. Maybe by including a section on how much you can save buying used versus buying new would be a good idea to increase customer engagement.

  3. I like your thinking behind your social media choices for your business. Perhaps in YouTube you can make videos on what too look out for when buying used equipment out on their own so that the person ends up with a good product.

I went through your Facebook and saw that posted when there are new listings available or when bids are almost running out. I say that is such a great thing to do for your followers, and that you should continue doing that for as long as you can.

  4. Facebook and Instagram are also my favorites and most effective for me! I checked out your Facebook page and loved the photos you posted! There was one of a barn and the colors in it were great! My only suggestion to you is to maybe post more frequently! But I enjoyed looking through your page!
